Cow’s milk allergy
Saturday, April 3rd, 2010PATIENT-I have a one-and-a-half year old who’s allergic to cow’s milk. I’d like to pursue homeopathic treatment for this. Could you please advise how to proceed further
SUGGESTED SOLUTIONS-
Milk intolerance or milk allergy is the result of processing of the milk and this is the milk that is available in market today. The fat content of milk is processed and this leads to a variety of symptoms like frequent colds, colic, chronic diarrhea, constipation, asthma, heartburn, stomach pain, skin reactions, headaches and irritability.
Ayurveda
Boil ¼ glass of cows milk with 1 glass water and a pinch of turmeric. This dilution wlong with turmeric helps in reducing allergic reactions. It also improves the digestion.
Rajanyadi choornam – ½ tsp + ¼ tsp ghess + 1 tsp honey twice a day will be helpful.
Naturopathy
An effective alternative to cows milk would be the ragi milk, rice milk or soya milk. Also include all fruits and fruit juices.
If the child could tolerate introduce him to yoghurt, cottage cheese etc
Homeopathy
Homeopathic remedies can be used to reduce the body’s sensitivity to milk. You need to meet a homeopathic physician for a complete case evaluation as the treatment in homeopathy is very individualistic. Meanwhile you can give your baby Aethusa 30 3 pills 3 times a day till you meet the doctor.
